Terms & Conditions

By submitting an enquiry, making a booking or otherwise using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by any additional terms provided to you at the time of booking.

If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our website or services.

A booking is confirmed only when we send you a written confirmation and have received the applicable deposit. Availability, pricing and itineraries are subject to change until that point.

Every journey is tailor-made; any representation made during planning is indicative until it appears in your final itinerary.

Unless stated otherwise in your itinerary, a non-refundable deposit is payable on confirmation, with the balance due in advance of departure. Specific percentages and dates will appear in your confirmation.

All amounts are payable in the currency stated on your invoice. You are responsible for any bank charges, currency conversion costs or taxes imposed on the payment.

Cancellation charges apply on a sliding scale depending on how close to departure the cancellation is made. The exact schedule will be set out in your booking confirmation.

Once a journey has begun, we cannot refund any unused portion of the itinerary, including early departures, missed activities or accommodation not used.

You are responsible for ensuring that you hold valid passports, visas, permits and any health certifications required for the destinations on your itinerary, and for entry to any transit countries.

We are happy to advise on standard requirements, but advice is a courtesy and not a substitute for your own verification with the relevant authorities.

Wildlife expeditions carry inherent risks. By travelling with us you accept that animal sightings, weather, road conditions and other factors are outside our control.

We expect all guests to behave with respect toward wildlife, local communities and fellow travellers, and to follow the reasonable instructions of guides and camp staff. We reserve the right to discontinue service, without refund, where this expectation is not met.

Comprehensive travel insurance — covering medical, evacuation, cancellation, baggage and personal liability — is a condition of travel with Gaia Tales. We may ask for proof of cover prior to departure.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gaia Tales acts as an agent for the camps, lodges, transport operators and guides that form part of your journey, and is not liable for any loss, injury, delay or damage caused by their acts or omissions.

Our aggregate liability for any claim arising from or related to a journey is limited to the amount you have paid to us for that journey.

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, epidemics, acts of government, strikes, civil disturbance or armed conflict.

All content on this website — including photography, film, writing and design — belongs to Gaia Tales or its licensors and may not be reproduced, distributed or used in derivative work without our written permission.

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Gurugram, Haryana, unless otherwise required by local consumer law.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your booking is the one in force on the date your booking was confirmed.
