Exploring The Northeast Forest

India's northeast is a different country of forest — rainforest rolling into montane oak and rhododendron, cut by river valleys few travellers ever see. This is an expedition-style journey for the patient: long walks under the canopy, quiet mornings on ridgelines, and a cast of endemic species that belongs nowhere else on earth.

The journey

An Introduction

We travel between Arunachal's forested valleys and its birding ridgelines, working with local trackers and community homestays. The region is remote, the sightings earned — but the reward is a biodiversity that rivals anything else on the subcontinent: red panda feeding at dawn, hoolocks calling across a valley, and hornbills crossing a river of mist.
