Few countries hold more bear diversity than India. From the Himalayan brown of the cold desert to the Asiatic black of the montane forests and the sloth bear of central India's sal, this is a journey across habitats as much as species — and a chance to photograph a creature often overlooked on the subcontinent.
The journey
An Introduction
We build this as a multi-leg expedition — each bear species in its own country. A summer leg in Ladakh and Kashmir for the Himalayan species, then a cooler season in the sal forests of central India for sloth bear. It is the most habitat-diverse of our journeys, and the one that rewards patience across the seasons.
